Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

1. Overview

Forty Flavors ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy describes the site's current data practices. During the present editorial and AdSense review period, non-essential analytics and advertising scripts are disabled.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

We do not operate an on-site contact form or newsletter signup. If you email an address listed on our Contact page, your email provider and our email provider process your address, message, and related delivery metadata.

Information collected automatically

  • Our hosting provider may process IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent, and security signals to deliver and protect the site
  • Essential administrator authentication cookies are used only on restricted administration pages, not on public recipe pages
  • Non-essential Google Analytics and advertising scripts are disabled while the site is in editorial review mode

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Reply to email messages you send us
  • Deliver pages, protect the service, and investigate abuse
  • Improve site performance, accuracy, accessibility, and fix bugs
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical and security issues

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The public site currently does not set non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. Restricted administration pages use authentication cookies that are necessary to protect the CMS.

  • Essential cookies — used for authenticated administration and security
  • Analytics cookies — disabled during editorial review mode
  • Advertising cookies — disabled because the site is not currently serving ads

If analytics or advertising is enabled later, this policy and the consent interface will be updated before those scripts load.

5. Advertising

Forty Flavors has applied to Google AdSense but is not currently approved to display Google ads. The AdSense account verification meta tag does not itself set an advertising cookie or display an ad.

If advertising is enabled in the future, third-party vendors including Google may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses or other device identifiers to serve, measure, and protect ads. Ads may be based on prior visits where the visitor has made the required consent choice.

For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform must be configured and shown before advertising technologies load. The site's ad loader remains disabled until that configuration is explicitly marked ready.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.

6. Analytics

Google Analytics is disabled while the site is in editorial review mode. If it is enabled later, it will be subject to an updated consent flow and this policy will describe the active configuration and retention period.

7. Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Hosting, security, and email providers that deliver the site and messages
  • Analytics or advertising providers only if those services are enabled and disclosed here
  • Law enforcement, if legally required

8. Data Retention

We do not store contact submissions in the website database. Email correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain a correction record, resolve a dispute, or meet legal obligations. Hosting security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational settings.

9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information
  • Delete — ask us to remove your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object — opt out of certain processing, including marketing
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Non-discrimination (CCPA) — we will not penalize you for exercising your rights

To make a request, email us at privacy@fortyflavors.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

Forty Flavors is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have data about a child, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when site practices change. The fixed "Last updated" date at the top reflects an actual revision, not the date on which the page happens to be viewed.
